Giving a miss to the likes of Sarvana Bhavans, Andhra Bhavans, Sagar Ratnas, Naivedyams and others (in no way I am saying they aren’t good), I tasted some amazing South Indian stuff at these three joints in South Delhi. Though, I tasted selected items only, based on recommendations from my friends. But I am sure, the other items served by them are equally good. The purpose of this short story is to introduce you to these outlets.
Back in India, from over a month and a half trip in Pakistan, the Jalali Couple thought of bringing alive those authentic flavours and this is how the NWFP Food Festival was conceptualized. So, my Sunday Brunch was a lavish spread with some meat, some more, and more, and more….
As the luck would have it, five days later I was in Kolkata. And, was committed to be there at The Blue Poppy-Thakali. Once again, it was an evening full of amazing food and unending talks and photo sessions. We were hosted at the personal table of Doma (the first on the left as soon as you enter). The food line up, personally chosen by Doma, unfolded like a Bollywood thriller with a superb climax.
