In the Lutyen’s Delhi, just a few meters away from Rashtrapati Bhawan, in middle of where Members of Parliament or Ministers reside, there is this Mysore Café !! This outlet is serving some authentic, no-nonsense, rustic South Indian fare. Last weekend, we visited this place and savoured our breakfast comprising Sambar Vada, Set Dosa and Mysore Masala Dosa, of course with a cup of Filter Coffee.
Giving a miss to the likes of Sarvana Bhavans, Andhra Bhavans, Sagar Ratnas, Naivedyams and others (in no way I am saying they aren’t good), I tasted some amazing South Indian stuff at these three joints in South Delhi. Though, I tasted selected items only, based on recommendations from my friends. But I am sure, the other items served by them are equally good. The purpose of this short story is to introduce you to these outlets.
Suddenly, you see a waiter balancing almost 10-12 plates of Dosa along the length of his arm. Before you realise, he would quickly distribute it to the guests. In quick succession, another waiter would come with a pan full of Coconut Chutney. With a slight tilt of the pan over your plate, a good amount of Chutney is poured on the side.
