Delhi (Gurgaon included) swears by it Chhole Bhature fix. There are many eateries which are undisputed leaders and then there are those who have set following. However, away from this, today, I write here about a slightly poor cousin of this CB. Yes, Chhole Kulche, the non-oily Chhole and the baked Kulcha. In exactly last one year, I have tasted Chhole Kulche, in various avtaars, at a few places which stand out but are not popular beyond the foodie community or their locales. I had written about them on my FB / Insta/ Twitter Accounts at different times. But then, today I got to taste yet another variant of this humble Chhole Kulche, the hero of my story today. When we talk of Hyderabad, an image of Biryani, followed by Haleem, Patthar Gosht, Spicy Gongura Mutton, Double Ka Meetha, and others cross our mind. Over many visits to the city and various food experiences, I bring here a glimpse of two eateries, iconic in their own unique way. My short trip to Goa last month saw me not bothering much for the beach shacks’ food and the restaurants’s food (although we did have). Instead, I tried to focus on what was available on the streets. And, those basic places served some authentic stuff with amazing flavours which amused me a lot. I bring to you some of my flavourful encounters on the streets of Goa. (more…)
