• Fruity Night, Mughlai Sunshine and Majestic Times in Kolkata

    Every time I am in Kolkata, Food is the second most important item on the itinerary after work. In fact, visiting Kolkata, the city of born foodies, and if you don’t enjoy food, is like visiting a temple and not paying homage to the presiding deity.   • Homely, Exotic And A Dhaba Treat

    All of us have that dilemma in life while making food choices.gg When we go out to eat, we want homely food, Ghar Jaisa Khaana. When we cook at home, we want the outcome to match the exotic look and taste of a restaurant. It should be almost mandatory for our guests to ask, “Kaunse Restaurant Se Mangvaya Hai”? And when we drive down for long road trips, we have our own set highway Dhabas for they serve the food which is basic, flavourful with an attempted effort to look exotic by adding a dash of Cream or Butter or grated Paneer or Khoya.   • Flavours of Simplicity And Finesse

    Sometimes Food Stories unfold like a film plot and that is exactly what happened with me last week in Jaipur. To avail the long weekend, we were on a short vacation to this royal city.  We were out, sort of trying to enjoy the grandeur of Jaipur and the temperature was scorching 38 degrees.  By the late noon we wanted a cool place to sit down and have a satisfying lunch.  The cab driver Vinod (who was with us since last two days) suggested that we go to Niros on MI Road.  Both Niros and MI Road struck a chime in the mind.  We agreed and soon were on our way….not knowing that a flashback awaits.  (more…)
